John Lewis Poet

This is the kind of job you say yes to first, then start asking questions. Adam & Eve approached in August about this project and told me that if I couldn’t do it, it probably wasn’t going to happen – and even if that wasn’t true, it was nice of them to say it.

As the John Lewis Gift Tag Poet I did a 9-day tour of their biggest stores, from Southampton to Glasgow, writing really personal gift tag poems for customers as part of their ‘Make it more thoughtful’ campaign – with the help of super talented calligrapher, Jess.

The poems were so personal they might seem a little random, but there’s a story behind every one. Over the tour I wrote hundreds of poems, here are just a few of my favourites.

And the project went so well they invited me back for Valentine’s.
